Erosion

Working only when the tide was out.

Island Excavators had to be careful not to damage any trees in the process

Erosion is always a concern here on Prince Edward Island. The cottage land has been in our family for generations, and it seems that concern was just passed on and passed on; until Me. Approximately 33 ft had eroded over 35 years, I could have just passed the concern on to the next generation but somehow that didn't seem like the right thing to do.

I decided to consult with Island Excavators for advice. Wade recommended that we line the 20 ft bank with heavy material and secured it with Island Stone; keeping it authentically PEI and pleasing to the eye.

Painting Begins

Renovations began November 8th 2008 at Lords Seaside Cottages. Ian Robinson, my trusty painter, hard at work making sure all the cottages were "binned" before the "REALLY" cold weather set in. Removing Wall Paper was really fun too!!!!
