Wow, summer certainly did fly by, the last entry to my blog was April.!!
Well, renovations did come to an end in June.......the day before hosting my first wedding.
7 weddings in total, and I must say..... all my Brides, Grooms and their families were super wonderful to work with.
The Luxury Suite was a hit, both with the Bride and Grooms and with my cottage guests.
I have 18 weeks booked for next year for the cottages and 2 weddings, so 2011 is looking like a busy year as well.
I am adding a new service for my guests for next year..."stocked Cottages". There will be a page on my website that my guests can go and fill out their grocery list. When they arrive, they don't have to worry about going back out to find a grocery store; it will already be in their cottage.
I will be closing up the cottages the end of this month, but I'm looking forward to meeting more guests for this beautiful Fall Season.

Still Renovating
Renovations are on there way and progressing nicely. The plumbers were in yesterday to "rough" in the cottage on the front row, while Rick and I work on the landscaping.
We now have the stairs to the beach in place; that was a bigger job than usual. The landscape had changed dramatically and we had to alter the stairs.
The electrician comes this week, followed by the return of the carpenters; Don and Eddie.
All the water is now activated , and we are happy to say we did a bang up job in the Fall, as there are no leaks.
We had 2 visitors from Saskatchewan on Saturday, even though the cottages are not cleaned and ready to rent yet, they took pictures and strolled the beach. The sun was shining and the wind was off the water.
Lucy, Thelma, and Paulette (local neighbors) came down to the cottages to check out a new location for their annual Family Reunion. Hopefully I will see them again in July.
Thats all for now.

cottage #4, newly renovated
The walls were painted a soft mint color and the leather furniture is a light grey. The drapes are sheer white, to let lots of light in and to keep the cottage feel of easy/breezy.
All the double beds have new patch quilts with new pillows. I wanted to keep the "country" feel.
Laminate floor was cost effective, clean, and durable. It worked for me, and my guests like it too. Not too dark and not too light. I tried to pick a "sand" color for most of the cottages, after all, we are right on the beach.

New "window treatments"!! with that airy, breezy feel, brightens up the room .This is the perfect cottage for late summer and Fall, its next to the woods and stays sheltered from that nasty north wind.
Camp fires are great at this cottage as well....but remember to close your windows, there is always a slight breeze from the ocean.
